Hello! Thanks for visiting our blog. Just a little bit of background on us, my name is Dua, and I, along with my brother Basim, love baking.
My love of baking started from a very young age. A lot of my friends would often spend their summers outdoors, either at camp or playing sports, but for some reason, I absolutely loved baking and could be found making a mess in my parent’s kitchen or at a cake decorating class as a child!
As I baked, I often found my brother walking in circles around the kitchen, and it wasn’t long until he became my official baking assistant :)!
My brother loves to help out at every step of the process (especially the dough tasting and eating steps!). Because he has autism and is unable to speak, I often show him lots of images of baked goods and have him point to what he wants to bake before we start (he almost always picks sugar cookies, so sorry if we’re always posting pictures of sugar cookies!). I think the whole process of rolling out the dough and cutting and decorating the cookies is really fun for him, and I really just enjoy being able to bond with him through the process.
As the pandemic began, the two of us began to have more time to bake, so we decided to start this blog to showcase some of the products of our baking sessions! We hope you enjoy looking through it as much as we enjoyed creating it 🙂
