Fundraisers

As the world took to the streets to protest for changes in the systematic racism rooted in our society today, my brother and I really wanted to do our part to take part in such a much-needed cause. Not being able to attend protests due to fears surrounding COVID, we decided to start a fundraiser in order to raise money to support funds and awareness for the Black Lives Matter movement. In order to raise money and awareness for the racial disparities present in the criminal justice system, we decided to support the National Bail Fund Network’s Emergency Response Fund during this time. The National Bail Fund Network helps to free friends and neighbors from local and country jails, as well as immigrant jails. And while this work is always imperative (so go donate now if you can!: https://secure.actblue.com/donate/bailfundscovid), the situations involving both the COVID-19 crisis and the arrests from the recent protests made it even more important that we help to free individuals in jails and immigration detention centers.

In order to raise money, we decided to hold a bake sale in which we would bake cookies, cupcakes, cake pops, and brownies and deliver them to individuals who ordered them via no-contact delivery. Thanks to an outpouring of support from people in our hometown, as well as from friends and family all over the world, we were able to raise a total of $470 for the national bail fund network. We hope to do more fundraisers in the future so stay tuned!

Here are some pictures from the bake sale as well 🙂 Unfortunately, we didn’t get too many good pictures since we were all over the place trying to get the deliveries out on time, but we will be sure to get lots of good photos next time!
